The Caruso & Minini Estate is a magnificent vineyard located in Marsala, on the western coast of Sicily in Italy. The estate, which spans almost 120 hectares, is nestled in green countryside, where the Mediterranean sea breeze encourages the growth of high-quality vines. This winery dates back to the 1900s and is the result of a merger between two historical wine-growing families - the Carusos and the Mininis. In 2004, Stefano Caruso, whose great-grandfather was the famous winemaker Nino Caruso, partnered with Mario Minini from the Lombard winemaking house F.lli Minini, to bring this magnificent estate to life. The Caruso & Minini Estate favors an environmentally-friendly approach to vine cultivation. Sustainable farming practices and the use of modern technologies help maintain the natural balance of the terroir and promote the production of superior quality wines. Each bottle contains the authentic expression of the terroir and the interoperability of Sicilian and international grape varieties. The Caruso & Minini Estate offers a wide range of red, white, and rosé wines. The white wines are made from typical grape varieties such as Catarratto and Grillo, as well as international grape varieties such as Chardonnay and Viognier. The red wines are made from local grape varieties like Nero d'Avola and Perricone, as well as international ones such as Merlot and Syrah. A visit to the Caruso & Minini Estate not only offers the opportunity to taste exceptional wines but also to discover Sicilian history and culture. Tastings are often accompanied by local products, highlighting the perfect harmony between Sicilian gastronomy and wine.

Discover the grape variety: Glera

It is said to be of Slovenian origin, where it is cultivated under the name of Prosekar, also known for a long time in Italy under the name of Glera. It should not be confused with prosecco lungo - although there is a family link - and prosecco nostrano, which is none other than Tuscany's malvasia. Note that Vitouska - another Italian grape variety - is the result of a natural intraspecific cross between Tuscan malvasia and Prosecco. Under the name of Glera, it is registered in the Official Catalogue of wine grape varieties list A. It can be found in practically all of the former Yugoslavia, and more surprisingly in Argentina, but is virtually unknown in France.
