The Marchesi di Gresy Estate, located in Barbaresco, Italy, is one of the most esteemed vineyards in the region. This prominent winery spreads over an area of 45 hectares, much of which is dedicated to the cultivation of various grape varieties, particularly Nebbiolo, Barbera, Moscato, and Sauvignon. Founded in 1973 by Alberto di Grésy, the estate quickly earned a reputation for excellence in the wine world. Alberto di Grésy inherited his father's vineyards and decided to make wine with his own grapes, in order to preserve the quality and guarantee the consistent production of world-class wines. He quickly managed to turn his estate into a true icon of Piedmont wine production. The estate is famous for its three historic vineyards: Martinenga, Monte Aribaldo, and La Serra. Martinenga, known for being one of the best vineyards in Barbaresco, is a unique 12-hectare site dedicated to Nebbiolo, producing the Barbaresco Martinenga. Monte Aribaldo is a 10.5-hectare vineyard mainly planted with Chardonnay and Sauvignon, producing high-quality white wines. La Serra, on the other hand, is divided between Moscato and Dolcetto. Another factor that sets the Marchesi di Gresy Estate apart is its unwavering commitment to sustainable production. The estate follows the principles of integrated viticulture, minimizing the use of chemical inputs and prioritizing biodiversity. The cellar is equally impressive, combining traditional and modern methods. It stands out for its respect of winemaking processes that produce wines which perfectly reflect the unique terroir of Barbaresco.
