The Lapostolle Estate is a prestigious vineyard located in the Colchagua Valley, at the heart of Chile. It is renowned for its rich history, exceptional quality wines, and its commitment to the environment and sustainable development. Historically, the estate belongs to the Marnier-Lapostolle family, best known for their creation of the renowned Grand Marnier liqueur. In 1994, Alexandra Marnier-Lapostolle and her husband, Cyril de Bournet, had the vision to produce world-class wines in Chile, using the family expertise acquired over seven generations. Thus, the Lapostolle Estate was born. This estate, nestled between the Andes and the Pacific Ocean, currently covers 370 hectares of vineyards, spread across three different vineyards: Clos Apalta, Cuvee Alexandre, and Le Petit Clos. Each of these vineyards has a unique microclimate and specific soils, allowing them to produce a range of versatile and complex wines. The Lapostolle Estate is recognized for its commitment to biodynamic and organic production methods. They have adopted eco-friendly practices such as composting, biological pest control, and the use of indigenous yeasts for fermentation. These practices have earned the estate several organic and biodynamic certifications. The wines produced by the Lapostolle Estate are well recognized for their intense flavor and sophistication. Their emblematic cuvée, Clos Apalta, has been awarded several times and is ranked among the best wines in the world. They also produce high-quality white wines, such as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The estate offers guided tours of their facilities, allowing visitors to discover the wine production process, from the vine to the glass, as well as to taste their exquisite wines.
