Ideally nestled in the picturesque hills of southwest Germany, the vineyard Domaine Bernhard Huber is one of the hidden gems of the Baden wine region. Recognizing the strong potential of the tunbergian hills and their soils ranging from limestone to marl, Bernhard Huber established this estate in 1987 with an unwavering objective: to produce exceptional wine that reflects the unique terroir of the region. Domaine Bernhard Huber spans an area of 28 hectares, primarily cultivated with grape varieties such as pinot noir (spaetburgunder in German), pinot gris and pinot blanc. Pinot noir, being the house specialty, is grown on 60% of the vineyard area. The estate is renowned for its modern interpretation of this classic grape variety, producing robust and elegant wines, characterized by a depth of flavor and silky tannins. One of the unique factors of Domaine Bernhard Huber is its commitment to sustainable farming practices. In addition to using only organic pesticides, the estate has implemented a variety of measures to preserve soil quality and promote a healthy ecosystem. This includes vigorous vine care, manual harvesting to ensure the best quality of grapes, and winemaking that minimizes human intervention to allow for the natural expression of the fruit. The meticulous attention to detail of the cellar is reflected in the exceptional wines that are produced. International critics continually praise their complexity and perfect balance, describing the pinot noir as having an intensely fruity black cherry flavor, with notes of tobacco and spices, and a lingering finish. Domaine Bernhard Huber represents the best of German viticulture.
