The Domaine Dom Brial is a vineyard located in the heart of Languedoc-Roussillon, France, that has been producing high-quality wines for over a hundred years. Founded by the Brial family in 1900, it is now run by their 4th generation and remains loyal to its winemaking tradition, blending artisanal skill with technological innovation. Surrounded by the splendid mountain ranges of the Corbières and the peak of Barque, the 46-hectare Domaine meticulously cultivates indigenous Languedoc grape varieties, including Carignan, Syrah, and Grenache. The vines grow on clay and limestone terraced soils at altitudes ranging from 200 to 400 meters, allowing them to accumulate and retain soil nutrients and to absorb the sun's rays. With over 30 years of presence in Languedoc-Roussillon, the Brial family now produces and raises more than 20 different wines, grouped into two large collections. The collection Les Vignes Centenaires offers wines matured in French oak barrels and prepared by a dedicated winemaker, with an emphasis on fruit and balance. The second collection, Le Prestige, consists of acclaimed cuvées raised in French oak barrels from older vineyards, allowing for slower aging and maximum complexity. Dom Brial's wines are rich in abundant aromas and flavors and are appreciated worldwide. In everything they do, each family member strives to meet the highest standards in order to share with consumers their passion for the region and its wine culture, and this is reflected in every bottle produced.

Discovering the wine region of Languedoc-Roussillon

Languedoc (formerly Coteaux du Languedoc) is a key appellation used in the Languedoc-Roussillon wine region of southern France. It covers Dry table wines of all three colors (red, white and rosé) from the entire region, but leaves Sweet and Sparkling wines to other more specialized appellations. About 75% of all Languedoc wines are red, with the remaining 25% split roughly down the middle between whites and rosés. The appellation covers most of the Languedoc region and almost a third of all the vineyards in France.

The typical Languedoc red wine is medium-bodied and Fruity. The best examples are slightly heavier and have darker, more savoury aromas, with notes of spice, undergrowth and leather. The Grape varieties used to make them are the classic southern French ones: Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, often with a touch of Carignan or Cinsaut. The white wines of the appellation are made from Grenache Blanc, Clairette and Bourboulenc, with occasional use of Viognier, Marsanne and Roussanne from the Rhône Valley.

Discover the grape variety: White muscat

White muscat is a white grape variety of Greek origin. Present in several Mediterranean vineyards, it has several synonyms such as muscat de Die, muscat blanc and frontignac. In France, it occupies a little less than 7,000 ha out of a total of 45,000 ha worldwide. Its young shoots are downy. Its youngest leaves are shiny, bronzed and scabrous. The berries and bunches of this variety are all medium-sized. The flesh of the berries is juicy, sweet and firm. Muscat à petits grains has a second ripening period and buds early in the year. It is moderately vigorous and must be pruned short. It likes poor, stony slopes. This variety is often exposed to spring frosts. It fears mildew, wasps, grape worms, court-noué, grey rot and powdery mildew. Muscat à petits grains is used to make rosé wines and dry white wines. Orange, brown sugar, barley sugar and raisins are the known aromas of these wines.
