The Lower Murray wine zone is home to one wine-producing region. This is, however, SouthAustralia's largest: Riverland. It takes its name from the mighty River Murray, and Lies between the Mount Lofty Ranges to the west and the state of Victoria to the east. .
Most certainly Portuguese, not to be confused with the Touriga Franca also of the same origin. In Portugal, where it is widely cultivated, it is used to produce, among other things, the famous red Porto. It is also found in Uzbekistan, Australia, South Africa, Cyprus, Spain, etc... very little known in France, although it is listed in the Official Catalogue of A1 vines.
red wines from the region of Lower Murray go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, lamb or spicy food such as recipes of roast monkfish with bacon, baked lamb neck on a bed of vegetables and grapes or chicken curry with coconut milk and cashew nuts.
On the nose in the region of Lower Murray often reveals types of flavors of cherry, dried fruit or vegetal and sometimes also flavors of floral, tree fruit or microbio. In the mouth in the region of Lower Murray is a powerful with a nice freshness.
