The Damilano Estate is nestled in the heart of the Barolo wine region, in Italy. As the original home of Barolo wine, often referred to as the "king of wines," this region is famed for its picturesque scenery, ideal winemaking climate and exceptional wines. The Damilano Estate, whose history dates back more than a century, is one of the jewels of this region. Founded in 1890 by Giuseppe Borgogno, the estate was passed on to his grandsons, Alfredo, Guido and Mario Damilano in 1935. Today, the Damilano Estate is run by the fourth generation of the family, who continue to dedicate themselves to the tradition and passion instilled by their predecessors. The estate spans about 40 hectares of vineyards, spread among the hills of Barolo. Paramount in their philosophy is respect for the terroir and the environment. The oldest vine, Cannubi, is over 100 years old and symbolizes the estate's commitment to tradition. The grape varieties planted are mainly Nebbiolo, the flagship varietal of the region, but also Barbera and Dolcetto. Located on one of the most prestigious territories in the world for viticulture, the Damilano Estate benefits from a continental climate, with hot summers and cold winters. This climate, coupled with well-drained and nutrient-rich soil, creates ideal conditions for vine cultivation. The estate takes particular care in pruning and trimming its vines in order to maximize fruit quality. The Damilano Estate is renowned for its high-quality Barolo wines. They also produce a range of red and white wines and offer tastings on site.
