Rare and little-known DOC of the Alto Piemonte (1969, Novara) on unique volcanic soils (acid porphyry, 300 Ma). Nebbiolo (local Spanna, 70–90 %) is the signature red: ruby robe with garnet reflections, elegant and tense with rose, sour cherry, raspberry, undergrowth and a volcanic mineral-spicy touch, fine tannins and superb acidity. Vespolina and Uva Rara (<=30 %) as complements. 34 months ageing.
