The Sandrone Estate is an exceptional vineyard nestled in the heart of the Langhe wine region of Piedmont, Italy. Founded in 1978 by Luciano Sandrone, who started his career as a simple vineyard worker, this estate quickly forged a solid reputation for its famous Barolo wines, Barolo Le Vigne and Barolo Cannubi Boschis. Spanning 27 resplendent hectares of vine, the estate is dotted with carefully tutored vines and gentle slopes offering a panoramic view over the picturesque wine landscape. The beautiful hills are planted mainly with Nebbiolo grapes, characteristic of the Langhe region, but also with some small quantities of Dolcetto and Barbera. The emblem of Sandrone estate's wines is the Nebbiolo, a noble and historic grape variety native to Piedmont, which yields elegant and complex wines, sometimes compared to the grand crus of Burgundy. Hand harvested, this grape is then carefully vinified using traditional and modern methods, thus guaranteeing the excellence of their wines. The Sandrone Estate is not only focused on high-quality wines, but it also committed to a respectful and sustainable farming approach, ensuring the preservation of soils and the minimization of the environmental impact of its activities. The estate's cellar is a perfect blend of old and new. Housed in a traditional Piedmontese farmhouse, this historical gem has been renovated to incorporate ultramodern winemaking facilities whilst retaining its traditional charm. The wines produced at the Sandrone Estate are globally recognized for their aromatic richness, complexity, and elegance.

Discover the grape variety: Nebbiolo

A very old grape variety grown in the Italian Piedmont. It has a great resemblance with the Freisa, which also comes from the same Italian region. Among the various massal selections made in Italy, we find lampia, michet and rosé. It can be found in Italy, Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Mexico, the United States (California), Australia, etc. In France, it is practically unknown, perhaps because it is a delicate and demanding grape variety with, among other things, a fairly long phenological cycle.
