The wine estate Domaine Monteraponi, nestled in the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside in Italy, is a dream destination for all wine lovers. Covering about 10 hectares in the Chianti Classico, it is adorned with lush vineyards under a blue sky, surrounded by olive groves and forests. Established in the 1970s, the Monteraponi estate is a historic property where prestigious heritage mixes with innovation. Its vineyards, planted on clay-limestone soils rich in fossils, offer an exceptional quality of grapes: mainly Sangiovese, but also Canaiolo and Malvasia Nera. Each season, the vine is respected through biodynamic cultivation and natural winemaking, to create wines that express the purity and authenticity of the Tuscan land. The cellar of the Monteraponi estate, vaulted in bricks, is a marvel of ancient architecture. It's there that the wines are patiently and competently aged, following a minimalist philosophy, respecting the natural process of winemaking. About 8000 bottles are produced each year, including the famous Chianti Classico Monteraponi and the highly prized Il Campitello. In this estate, each wine has its own story and is a natural expression of the terroir. Their Chianti Classico is known for its freshness and elegance with a beautiful tannic structure, while their premium cuvée, Il Campitello, is a complex wine, with an intense red color, aromas of ripe fruits and spices, and a beautiful length on the palate. The beauty of Domaine Monteraponi is completed by its traditional Tuscan farmhouse, which offers splendid panoramic views over the valley.

Discovering the wine region of Tuscany

Tuscany is one of the most famous and prolific wine regions in Europe. It is best known for its Dry red wines made from Sangiovese grapes, which dominate production. These include Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. The region's Vin Santo is also highly prized, as are its passito dessert wines, though these are produced in comparatively tiny quantities.

Dry whites are probably less familiar to most consumers - except perhaps Vernaccia di San Gimignano. Located in Central Italy, Tuscany borders Liguria and Emilia-Romagna to the North, Umbria and Marche to the east and Lazio to the South. Its western border is formed by the Tyrrhenian Sea. The picturesque rolling hills, medieval villages and cypress-lined avenues attract tourists and help promote the wines.
