Nestled in the heart of the Catalanes Coasts, in France, Domaine des Soulanes is a centuries-old family vineyard that combines viticultural tradition and innovation. Spanning 40 hectares, it is rooted at the foot of the Pyrenees, with vineyards that climb upon steep terraces, offering breathtaking panoramas over the Mediterranean Sea. Embedded among the rugged landscapes of the Catalanes Coasts, the Domaine creates a direct link between the grape variety and the terroir. Its terraced vineyards are primarily old vines of carignan, grenache, syrah, and mourvèdre for reds, while the whites come in macabeu, white grenache, and white carignan. The schistous soil of the estate, rich in minerals, contributes to the distinctive complexity of the wines. Advocating a viticulture respectful of terroirs and biodiversity, Domaine des Soulanes is committed to a natural winemaking approach. Since 2001, it has been certified in organic farming. Fermentation is performed naturally, without adding commercial yeasts, allowing each vintage to faithfully reflect the character of the year. With undeniable finesse and elegance, the wines of Domaine des Soulanes stand out for their freshness, minerality, and aging potential. The reds are full-bodied, concentrated, with aromas of wild black fruit, spices, and terroir, while the whites, of great purity, express a fruity, floral, and mineral character. Iconic of its terroirs, each wine from Domaine des Soulanes offers a unique taste experience, a sensory journey that reflects its soil, its climate, and its viticultural tradition.
