It is said to be the result of a natural intra-specific crossing between the heben or white gibi and the mourvèdre. The wine region of Côtes Catalanes is located in the region of Pays d'Oc of Vin de Pays of France. Wineries and vineyards like the Château de l'Ou or the Domaine Department 66 produce mainly wines red, white and pink.
