The Domaine Bernard Fleuriet and Sons is located in the peaceful countryside of Haute-Loire, surrounded by vineyards and lush green hills. Founded in 1919, the estate is one of the oldest wineries in the area. The estate is managed by the fourth generation of the Fleuriet family who are passionate about quality and respect for the vine. The estate's vineyards are situated on the sun-drenched slopes of Saint-Just and Metz-Arles which are ideal settings for producing quality wines. Thanks to 20-30 year old vines, the estate produces red and white wines every year which are crafted by hand in the winery's cellars. The estate produces a wide variety of red and white wines which undergo fermentation and aging processes that provide them with many subtle and complex aromas and flavors. Each wine is carefully crafted to achieve an optimal level of quality. All the wines are aged in handmade barrels made from French oak (ome), which gives each wine a unique character. The estate also produces sparkling wines and clay art wines which are limited to artisanal production. These special wines are aged and preserved with the utmost care, lending them rich and complex aromas. The Domaine Bernard Fleuriet & Sons is known for its passion and mastery of the art of winemaking, making it an ideal place to discover the wine traditions of one of France's oldest regions. Each bottle offers an invitation to discover wines that live up to their reputation: rich, sophisticated, and unforgettable.

Discovering the wine region of Haute Loire

Haute Loire is an unofficial name for the wine-producing communes of the Loire Valley located upstream (South and east) from Touraine. It includes two of the Loire's most famous appellations - Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume - along with a number of lesser known appellations such as Orléans, Valencay, Quincy and Côtes du Forez. The concept of a "Haute Loire" sub-region is necessary because the appellations that make it up are not grouped by an administrative or historical region; their main commonality is their proximity to the Loire River. Most other French wine regions correspond closely to an administrative region or department (e.

g. Alsace, Burgundy, Champagne, Provence). There is indeed a department of the Loire, but it is hundreds of miles upstream from the heart of the Loire Vineyard. Ironically, it is home to two of the least known appellations in the Loire Valley: Côte Roannaise and Côtes du Forez.

Like nowhere else on the Loire, these two regions specialize in red and rosé wines made from Gamay. Their style of wine and their sandy, granitic soils mean that they have more in common with Beaujolais (just 50 km to the east) than with any other Loire appellation.
