The Benanti Estate is a vinicultural gem nestled in the heart of the idyllic landscape of Etna, in Sicily, Italy. Established in 1988 by Giuseppe Benanti, this prestigious family estate takes advantage of the unique mineral quality of the volcanic soil upon which it rests to produce wines of exceptional quality, both fresh and intensely aromatic. Considered as one of the pioneers of the vinicultural renaissance of Mount Etna, the Benanti Estate spans over 14 hectares, of which approximately 11 are dedicated to viticulture. The estate primarily focuses on the indigenous grape varieties of Etna, namely the Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Capuccio for the reds, and the Carricante and Catarratto for the whites. The vines, planted in terraces at an altitude ranging from 400 to 900 meters, benefit from a unique microclimate that bestows the wines with a remarkable structure, complexity, and concentration. Since its inception, the Benanti Estate has adopted an environmentally respectful production philosophy, favoring a low-intervention, small-scale approach that respects the terroir. The vineyard thus follows the principles of organic farming, aiming to preserve biodiversity. Each wine produced at the Benanti Estate is the pure expression of the Etna terroir. Their red wines are elegant, structured, full of red fruits and spices, with a long and lingering finish. The whites, on the other hand, delight with their citrus, white flower aromas and a beautiful mineral quality, with a refreshing acidity.
