Today, the Malat family proudly preserves the estate's heritage, perpetuating the viticultural traditions established over the centuries. The estate spans over 50 hectares of vineyards, largely composed of Gruner Veltliner, Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay. The vines are planted on diverse soils such as loess, clay, and limestone, lending the wines of the Malat Estate unique complexity and depth. The combination of these soils, along with a favorable climate, create ideal conditions for grape maturation. The estate's approach to winemaking is focused on producing quality wines that reflect the essence of their terroir. The Malat Estate makes it a point of honor to preserve the integrity of its grapes, using environmentally friendly wine-making techniques. The estate is biodynamic certified and uses spontaneous fermentation, indigenous yeasts, and extended barrel aging to produce authentic and distinctive wines. The range of wines from the Malat Estate is renowned for its excellence. Their Grüner Veltliner offers fresh and vibrant notes of green apple and lemon, the Riesling is a perfect example of the balance between acidity and residual sugar, while their red wines, like the Pinot Noir, demonstrate refined depth and complexity with notes of red fruits, spices, and forest floor.
