The Giachino Estate is a vineyard located in the northern wine region of Savoie, on the foothills of the French Alps. For about a hundred years, it has been cultivating unique wines of exceptional quality. The work in the vineyards and the superb range of products are the result of a century-old know-how passed down from generation to generation. The vineyards within the Giachino Estate cover an area of about 30 hectares and are located at an altitude of about 850 to 1050 meters. The ideal exposure and special soil of the mountains make it the perfect place to cultivate exceptional vines. The grapes grown in the Giachino Estate mainly come from traditional grape varieties such as Mondeuse, Jacquère, and Roussanne. Each year, the different products, cuvées, and crus are produced from these grape varieties, and each wine is the result of a unique and artisanal winemaking process. The main mission of the Giachino Estate is to produce quality wines that reflect the variety, tradition, and natural character of their terroir. At Giachino, they strive to create uncompromised wines with the utmost respect for the earth and its environment. The Giachino family continues to honor their tradition and passion and share this with a varied selection of products. They offer still wines and traditional methods, thus providing authentic wines crafted from grapes grown under the best possible conditions. Discovering the wine region of Savoie

Savoie is a wine region in eastern France, in the mountainous areas just South of Lake Geneva and on the border with Switzerland. The location and geography of the region has very much defined its Character, which is fragmented, hilly and slightly Swiss. This is evident in the fresh, crisp white wines produced here, as well as in the labels of the region's wines. Many bear a white cross on a red background - the flag of Switzerland and Savoy.

About three quarters of the region's wines are white. This is mainly because most of the red Grapes would have difficulty maturing properly in the cooler Climate of Savoy. Jacquère is the most widely planted white grape, due to its high yield. Altesse, traditionally known here as Roussette, is used to produce some of the finest wines in Savoie, including its own appellations of Roussette de Savoie and Roussette de Bugey.
