The wine region of Utiel-Requena is located in the region of Valence of Spain. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Hispano Suizas or the Domaine Bodegas 6º Elemento - Vino Sexto Elemento produce mainly wines red, white and pink. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Utiel-Requena are Bobal, Tempranillo and Cabernet-Sauvignon, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Utiel-Requena often reveals types of flavors of blackberry, lime or licorice and sometimes also flavors of cream, nectarine or oil.
In the mouth of Utiel-Requena is a powerful with a nice balance between acidity and tannins. We currently count 177 estates and châteaux in the of Utiel-Requena, producing 680 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Utiel-Requena go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, pasta or veal.
A very old indigenous grape variety that has been cultivated for a very long time in Spain, more precisely in the western region of Valencia, where it is practically no longer multiplied today. It is said to be the result of a natural cross between the heftakilo and the rojal tinta, which are both black varieties. Planta nova can still be found in Portugal, Argentina, South Africa, ... almost unknown in France. A long time ago it was also harvested as a table grape, which is no longer the case today.
