The wine region of Colli del Limbara is located in the region of Sardaigne of Italy. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Siddura or the Domaine Tondini produce mainly wines red, white and pink. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Colli del Limbara are Cabernet-Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Merlot, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Colli del Limbara often reveals types of flavors of earth, black fruit or oak and sometimes also flavors of red fruit, non oak or spices.
In the mouth of Colli del Limbara is a powerful with a lot of tannins present in the mouth. We currently count 25 estates and châteaux in the of Colli del Limbara, producing 54 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Colli del Limbara go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, pasta or lamb.
A very old grape variety grown in Italy, some believe it to be of Greek origin. In France, it is practically unknown. It can be found in Australia, the United States (California), Argentina, etc. It should not be confused with Aglianicone, another grape variety grown in Italy, which is, however, very similar to Aglianico.
