The wine region of Curtefranca is located in the region of Franciacorta of Lombardie of Italy. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Ca' del Bosco or the Domaine Castello di Gussago produce mainly wines red, white and sparkling. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Curtefranca are Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet franc, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Curtefranca often reveals types of flavors of red fruit, black fruit or oak and sometimes also flavors of non oak, microbio or tree fruit.

It can be found in Italy, Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Mexico, the United States (California), Australia, etc. In France, it is practically unknown, perhaps because it is a delicate and demanding grape variety with, among other things, a fairly long phenological cycle.

Bordeaux wine sales to the US reached a new record in 2021, jumping 67% to €349m ($390m), the Bordeaux wine council (CIVB) announced this week.
