The Vindemio estate, located on the hills of Ventoux in France, was founded in 2014 by the passionate winemaker Patrick Bouju. This passion and the particular care he has put into the terroir and vineyard are palpable in every parcel of this superb estate. The winery is situated on a steep and unusual terrain overlooking the neighboring vineyards, offering a breathtaking view of the Monts of Ventoux. The volcanic and sandy land of Ventoux is suited for vine cultivation and provides Patrick's work with very balanced grapes that have voluminous and complex aromas. The Vindemio vineyard spans over more than 60 hectares of beautiful Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueras and Plan de Dieu vines. Patrick and his team cultivate each plot with dedication, care and respect for the soils. Their goal is to produce acclaimed wines revealing the unique character of each cuvée. Their wines reflect the exceptional diversity of the soils, grape varieties, and climates of Ventoux. Vindemio's wines are handcrafted and vinified by Patrick and his team in a traditional manner with the utmost care and matured in specially selected aging locations. Each cuvée is synonymous with quality, uniting elegance, finesse, and balance. The wines from the Vindemio estate have been very well received by critics and enthusiasts globally, affirming the excellence of the vineyard and its winemaker. Mainly cultivated in the Languedoc region, carignan originates from Spain. Because of its very resistant branches, it is often called hardwood. Its bunches are quite large. They are compact and winged with a lignified stalk. The berries are spherical in shape and take on a bluish-black colour. Carignan has a total of 25 approved clones, the best known of which are 274, 65 and 9. The carignan buds at the beginning of June and is protected from spring frosts.
