Discovering the wine region of Carmignano

The wine region of Carmignano is located in the region of Toscane of Italy. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Capezzana or the Domaine Piaggia produce mainly wines red, white and pink. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Carmignano are Sangiovese, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Carmignano often reveals types of flavors of cherry, licorice or hazelnut and sometimes also flavors of dried apricot, walnut or vegetal.

In the mouth of Carmignano is a powerful with a nice balance between acidity and tannins. We currently count 18 estates and châteaux in the of Carmignano, producing 44 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Carmignano go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, lamb or veal.
