The Pietro Caciorgna Estate is a magnificent winery located on the slopes of Mount Etna, in Sicily, Southern Italy. This region is known for its climate ideally suited for viticulture and its rich volcanic terroir, which gives the wines from the estate a unique quality and character. The estate was founded by Pietro Caciorgna, a passionate oenologist who spent a significant portion of his career working for various wine houses before deciding to create his own estate. This love for wine, he inherited from his father, who was himself a winemaker. With the help of his brother Paolo, he purchased in 2006 a plot of about 11 hectares in Castiglione di Sicilia, a municipality located east of Mount Etna. The estate specializes in native grape varieties of the region, such as Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio for red wines, and Carricante and Cataratto for white wines. The volcanic soil and the unique climate of Mount Etna give these wines an exceptional minerality and freshness, as well as intense aromas of red fruits and spices. At Pietro Caciorgna Estate, Sicilian wine tradition is respected. The vines are cultivated without pesticides, and the harvests are done by hand, in order to maximize the integrity and quality of the grape. The wines are then aged in oak barrels, which give them an elegant tannic structure and a deep aromatic complexity. In terms of architecture, the estate is characterized by a house in traditional Sicilian style, surrounded by vineyards that extend as far as the eye can see. Here, the emphasis is on simplicity and harmony with the surrounding nature.

It is most certainly of Italian origin, more precisely from Sicily where it is very present, especially on the slopes of the eastern and southern slopes of Mount Etna.
