The AOC Saint-Pourçain beLongs to the Centre-Loire sub-region, and applies to wines from the AuvergneVineyards. The annual production is 25,500 hl/year. In the heart of the crystalline Massif Central, the vineyard extends over 540 hectares and 19 communes (including Saint-Pourçain) on the left bank of the Allier. The soils of Saint-Pourçain are composed of tertiary sediments, topped by granitic bands and then by clays and limestones.

The vineyard is located at an altitude varying between 260 and 300 meters, on hillsides benefiting from a southeast to west exposure. The continental Climate is still subject to oceanic influences due to its location in relation to the Atlantic. The white wines are produced from local Grape varieties: Sacy and saint-pierre-doré, which give a specific Aromatic mark. The reds made from Gamay and Pinot Noir are very popular and Complex and can be kept for a long time.
