The Domaine du Père Caboche is a vineyard located in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, France. For over 200 years, the estate has been one of the largest producers of Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines. As a vineyard and agricultural operation, it is one of the oldest family businesses in the region, still run today by the fifth generation of owners. In 1890, the estate was founded by Pierre Caboche, a wealthy merchant who believed in the potential of the region and invested in the cultivation of local grape varieties. The estate now covers more than 45 hectares of vineyards, primarily Grenache and Mourvèdre grapes, as well as more common varieties such as Syrah, Cinsault and Clairette. The vines are planted on limestone and pebbly soils and hug the hills of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with an altitude ranging from 150 to 400 meters and providing the vines with a warm and sunny climate with hot, dry summers and mild winters. The Domaine du Père Caboche is considered a benchmark in winemaking. The house produces fine, aromatic wines of consistent quality and develops the quality of its wines in line with its tradition. The product range includes several growths and cuvées, which are made from old vines and fully ripened grapes, and are vinified with care and patience. The wines are aged in oak barrels and barriques to achieve a complex taste and an elegant bouquet characteristic of the estate's wines. The Domaine du Père Caboche is recognized for the quality of its wines, particularly its famous "Saint-Ferdinand" cuvée.
