The Vitteaut-Alberti Estate extends over 12 hectares of vineyards in one of the oldest wine-growing terroirs of Burgundy. Located 15 km south-east of Beaune, the estate has a façade overlooking the Burgundy countryside landscapes and is surrounded by vineyards classified as AOC Crémant de Bourgogne. Winemaker Etienne Vitteaut, 7th generation winemaker, produces classic Burgundian grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Gamay. These grapes are hand-harvested and used to produce Crémants de Bourgogne of exceptional quality. Moreover, the estate is also one of the few to produce ancestral method sparkling Crémant from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The vineyard is planted on limestone soils, also known as "butterfly soil", which offers superior drainage and a cooler soil, contributing to giving the wines fruitiness and freshness. The quality of the wines is further enhanced by carefully selected viticultural practices within the parcels: dozens of different clones are planted and grow in the best possible microclimate. Etienne and his family produce high-quality Crémant de Bourgogne in the most environmentally friendly way possible. Organic and biodiverse practices with strict programs for driving and reducing pesticides are used to reduce impacts on the environment. They are also one of the first estates to have their vineyards organically certified in 2019 and are passionate about maintaining the soils and landscapes to promote biodiversity and protect the environment. Thanks to his expertise and thirst for perfection, Etienne and his cuvées are ready to offer a great experience to all those who wish to taste authentic Crémants de Bourgogne.
