The Misty Cove Estate is a beautiful vineyard located in the Marlborough Valley on the South Island of New Zealand. It stands proudly in the heart of one of the best wine terroirs in the world, known for producing wines of exceptional quality. Founded in 2008 by Andrew Bailey and his wife Marieke, Misty Cove Estate is a family business dedicated to the production of superior quality wines. Their passion for winemaking is accompanied by a strong environmental ethic. They are proud to be BioGro certified, having converted their entire 60 hectares of vines to organic farming. The intention behind this approach is to produce wines that are not only remarkable in taste, but also respectful of the environment. The Marlborough climate, with its long sunny days and cool nights, gives Misty Cove Estate the opportunity to produce wines of unique aromatic intensity with balanced freshness and complexity. The variety of grape varieties, from Sauvignon Blanc to Pinot Noir, through Chardonnay and Pinot Gris, offers a wide range of exquisite wines to satisfy the most demanding palates. The most famous wine produced by Misty Cove is their Sauvignon Blanc. It is an iconic wine of the Marlborough region, with vibrant aromas of tropical fruit, citrus, and fresh herbs. Discover the grape variety: Pinot gris

Pinot Gris is a grey grape variety mutated from Pinot Noir. It has its origins in Burgundy, where it is called pinot-beurot in reference to the colour of the grey robes worn by the monks of the region. Established in Alsace since the 17th century, pinot gris was called tokay until 2007. It is made up of bunches of small berries that vary in colour from pink to blue-grey. It is particularly well suited to the continental climate because it is resistant to the cold in winter and to spring frosts. This variety also likes dry limestone soils with plenty of sunshine in the summer. Pinot Gris is well suited to late harvesting or to the selection of noble grapes, depending on the year and the concentration of sugars in the berries. Pinot Gris wines are distinguished by their aromatic complexity of white fruits, mushrooms, honey, vanilla, cinnamon, etc., and their great finesse. In the Loire Valley, pinot gris is used in the Coteaux-d'Ancenis appellations. It gives dry or sweet wines with pear and peach aromas.
