Since the 18th century, this estate has remained true to its original philosophy, aptly titled "traditional and innovative". It produces unparalleled wines, based on a desire to reward nature and like the original Larrivet house, to remain independent. Around 33 hectares, the winery experiments with rigorous cultivation and preparation methods and also devotes itself to obtaining the best vintages. The Chateau Larrivet-Haut-Brion is a member of the Classified Growths of the Bordeaux Region, which is quite representative of its exceptional quality. It combines a special expertise and a constant requirement, which has resulted in a prestigious range of grape varieties that faithfully reflect the excellence and variety of Bordeaux wines. The clayey and sandy soil of the Larrivet-Haut-Brion estate is essential for the production of exceptional quality wine. It combines the properties of good drainage and humidity allowed by the numerous water sources that cross the estate. The proximity of the oceans ensures beneficial cool winds that neutralise heat and help maintain a rich and abundant forest to protect the grapes and vineyard. The property hosts three distinct appellations - the Graves de Vayres reds produced on 8 hectares, the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux produced on 14 hectares and the Pessac-Léognan reds produced on 11 hectares. The Château Larrivet-Haut-Brion also offers a special collection of juices and blends with the Rosé Le Secret Larrivet, the Grand Blanc and the Grand Rouge. Knowing that the effects of irrigation have been coldly avoided, the finished wines have an intuitive balance between the woody, the structure and the fruits. A visit to this estate is recommended to delight the eyes and please the palate.
