The Domaine de la Motte winery is located in Cournonsec in the Hérault department, at the far southwest of the Languedoc-Roussillon region in France. Situated within a stunning, preserved natural setting, the estate spans over 60 hectares of exceptional terroir and offers a large variety of wines, both rosé, white, and red. The vineyard is planted on gently sloping lands in the shadow of the Black Mountain, producing wines with rich and complex flavors. The vines are organically farmed, and the use of chemical products and fertilizers is strictly limited to ensure optimal quality and sustainable production. The range of wines produced on the estate is varied. The white wine is produced from Grenache and Roussanne grapes; the red is made from Mourvèdre and Syrah grapes, and the rosé is crafted from Cinsault and Grenache grapes. The wines are carefully vinified and aged with extreme attention to detail, using modern techniques and cutting-edge technology equipment. You will also find a varied selection of vintages, such as the Chante-Loup and the Centenaire, which was produced to celebrate the company's 100th anniversary. One of the great advantages of the Domaine de La Motte is its proximity to the neighboring village of Béziers, which is only a 20-minute drive away and offers a wonderful range of shops, restaurants, and entertainment for the whole family. Additionally, when visiting the estate, you can also enjoy several activities such as horse riding along the Canal du Midi, hiking trails through the vineyards, and wine tours to discover the magical alchemy of wine. Discovering the wine region of Languedoc-Roussillon

Languedoc (formerly Coteaux du Languedoc) is a key appellation used in the Languedoc-Roussillon wine region of southern France. It covers Dry table wines of all three colors (red, white and rosé) from the entire region, but leaves Sweet and Sparkling wines to other more specialized appellations. About 75% of all Languedoc wines are red, with the remaining 25% split roughly down the middle between whites and rosés. The appellation covers most of the Languedoc region and almost a third of all the vineyards in France.

The typical Languedoc red wine is medium-bodied and Fruity. The best examples are slightly heavier and have darker, more savoury aromas, with notes of spice, undergrowth and leather. The Grape varieties used to make them are the classic southern French ones: Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, often with a touch of Carignan or Cinsaut. The white wines of the appellation are made from Grenache Blanc, Clairette and Bourboulenc, with occasional use of Viognier, Marsanne and Roussanne from the Rhône Valley.
