The Clusel-Roch Estate is a family-run vineyard located in Côte-Rôtie, France, offering memorable wines from organic vineyards. Clusel-Roch wines are crafted by the family with special attention to the health of the soils and vineyards, the quality of each grape, and the preservation of unique flavors inherent in Côte-Rôtie. For more than 20 years, the Clusel-Roch Estate has been representing the last indigenous cultivars of the Rhône Valley region, such as Syrah and Viognier, which they refine and work on to produce memorable wines. The Syrah-based wines provide intense and assertive flavors, characterized by notes of spices, ripe red and black fruits, and olives. As for the Viognier-based wines, crafted from ripe and carefully selected grapes, they offer unique aromas of flowers, exotic fruits, stone fruits, and apples. The Clusel-Roch vineyards are spread across 2.5 hectares and are currently under organic conversion. Roussane is a white grape variety, planted on an area of more than 700 ha. Originally from Montélimar, it is also found in Savoie, Languedoc and Roussillon, and grows very well in calcareous, poor, stony soil. It prefers to be pruned short. Roussane is also called fromenteau, barbin or bergeron. The young leaves are bubbled with fine down. When adult, they become thicker. It flowers in June and matures in mid-September. The grapes are cylindrical in shape, the berries are small and turn red when ripe, and the wine produced from pure Roussane is of extraordinary quality.
