The Château Clinet is a beautiful wine estate located in Pomerol, France. Originally, the estate was a 13th-century French country house, surrounded by vineyards and chestnut trees. Since 1801, the property has remained in the family of Jean-Jacques Clinet. The estate is currently managed by Jean-Michel and Thierry Arcaute, but rests on the legacy of Jean-Jacques Clinet, who expertly crafted and pressed the first-growth wine, Château Clinet. Over the years, the production of wine on the estate has evolved using new methods of vinification and aging. The vineyard of Château Clinet covers more than 25 hectares in the Pomerol wine region, in the Gironde departments of France. The vines are planted on sandy-clay soil rich in calcium, and combined with the mild Atlantic climate and oceanic influence, to produce grapes of exceptional quality. The main varieties are Merlot and Cabernet Franc, supplemented by a little Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. Château Clinet wines are complex, voluptuous, and tasty, with remarkable qualities of nose, structure, and texture. The wines display a deep and intense ruby color and aromas of massage, black fruit, and licorice. The wines are generally slightly full-bodied, with firm tannins and a perfect balance of flavors, making them wonderful wines to drink alone or with meals. Château Clinet also produces other wines, such as Château Clinet Cabernet Sauvignon, Château Clinet Lalande de Pomerol, and Château Clinet Petit Bâtard, which are all highly respected and appreciated by wine lovers. Château Clinet is the only proprietor to offer white wines and spectacular dry and sweet wines, made exclusively from the Semillon variety. The sweet wines are also breathtaking and are hugely popular.
