Johannes Trapl has for many years followed the path of nature and adheres to the natural cycle. His work originates from a nearly unique connection with it. As humans, we are inhabitants of the Earth and must adapt to circumstances. Not the other way around. Carnuntum is located south of the Danube (35 km east of Vienna) above Neusiedlersee and Neusiedlersee-Hugelland. The estate and vineyards are in the most qualitative and prestigious part of the appellation: Göttlesbrunn. Johannes is a true purist, he is among the flagship producers of the region. He conveys the authenticity of his terroir by working with indigenous grape varieties Zweigelt, St Laurent, and Blaufränkisch. The grapes are foot-pressed, and the wine is made in amphorae, stainless steel, and oak barrels.

All the methods (pumping over, punching down) that allow the colour and tannins to be extracted from the grape skin during maceration, before fermentation begins.
