A cross between petit Bouschet and aramon obtained by Henri Bouschet in 1855. It should be noted that this grape variety is very similar to the piquepoul-bouschet (a cross between the piquepoul gris and the petit Bouschet) with which it should not be confused. The wine region of Baja California
The wine region of Baja California is located in the region of North of Mexico. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Baron Balche or the Domaine Santo Tomás produce mainly wines red and sweet. Under the name of Mansois, it is the main grape variety of Marcillac; it is also one of the important varieties of Gaillacois, where it is called Braucol. It is also used in the blends of other South-Western appellations (Fronton, Lavilledieu, Estaing, Madiran). Syn.: braucol, pinenc, mansois.
