Fresh, structured dry whites with a pale golden colour and a crisp, lean palate; signature aromas of green apple, citrus (lemon), white flowers and delicate Adriatic mineral notes. Refreshing coastal style, best drunk young. A component of DOC whites from the Marche around Pesaro and Urbino; also found in Tuscany as Bianchello. The wine region of Tintilia del Molise
Molise DOC (2011) entirely dedicated to the autochthonous Tintilia variety, planted above 200 m in Campobasso and Isernia, with constant breezes and thermal amplitude preserving freshness. Exclusive Tintilia in reds (≥95%) — indigenous three-seeded variety confirmed by DNA: dense ruby, full-bodied with notes of prune, plum, morello cherry, liquorice and a peppery hint, firm yet supple tannins and excellent ageing. Rosso, Riserva and Rosato versions.
The wine region of Molise
Second smallest region of Italy between Abruzzo and Apulia on the Adriatic. Signature Tintilia as red king (native saved in the 1990s): dense and deep with notes of black mulberry, candied cherry, plum, garrigue, leather and spices, firm tannins and fleshy palate — the rediscovered pride of Molise. Supple Montepulciano (cherry, plum, liquorice), firm and structured Aglianico. Lively Trebbiano whites (citrus, flowers).
The word of the wine: Erinosis
Generally benign condition caused by a very small mite. The infested leaves show blisters on the upper surface, sometimes reddish, sometimes green, to which corresponds on the lower surface a dense felting, first pinkish white, then brownish or reddish.
