Historic US southeastern wine state (top US producer before Prohibition). Yadkin Valley as the main quality zone: signature Cabernet Franc (red fruit, bell pepper, violet, fresh herbs, supple tannins). Also dense Petit Verdot, round Merlot, fruity Sangiovese.
