Established in the heart of the stunning Tuscan panorama, the Fontodi Estate is a revered vineyard located in the Chianti Classico region in Italy. Occupying a sovereign position in the "Conca d’Oro" (the golden shell) valley, a natural amphitheater of fertile terroir, this winery is renowned for its exceptional red wines, which capture the essence of Tuscany in every sip. The Fontodi Estate was founded in 1968 by the Manetti family, artisans who have been making terracotta tiles for over three centuries. Today, under the dynamic leadership of owner Giovanni Manetti, the winery is firmly committed to biodynamic viticulture, producing wines of the highest quality while respecting the environment. Covering an area of over 80 hectares, the estate is primarily planted with Sangiovese, the emblematic grape variety of the region. The vines grow on soils rich in limestone and galestro, a local schist rock, which bring a mineral complexity and a finesetexture to its wines. The vineyard also stands out for its southern exposure, allowing the grapes to benefit from optimal ripeness. The Fontodi Estate is recognized for its Chianti Classico, a wine of astounding depth and excellent tannic structure, offering notes of red fruits, spices, and leather. Among the other treasures from its wine range is the famous Flaccianello della Pieve, a distinct single-varietal red wine that combines sophistication, power, and freshness. The philosophy of the Fontodi Estate is simple: quality, respect for nature, and precision.
