The wine region of Tintilia del Molise
Molise DOC (2011) entirely dedicated to the autochthonous Tintilia variety, planted above 200 m in Campobasso and Isernia, with constant breezes and thermal amplitude preserving freshness. Exclusive Tintilia in reds (≥95%) — indigenous three-seeded variety confirmed by DNA: dense ruby, full-bodied with notes of prune, plum, morello cherry, liquorice and a peppery hint, firm yet supple tannins and excellent ageing. Rosso, Riserva and Rosato versions.
The wine region of Molise
Second smallest region of Italy between Abruzzo and Apulia on the Adriatic. Signature Tintilia as red king (native saved in the 1990s): dense and deep with notes of black mulberry, candied cherry, plum, garrigue, leather and spices, firm tannins and fleshy palate — the rediscovered pride of Molise. Supple Montepulciano (cherry, plum, liquorice), firm and structured Aglianico. Lively Trebbiano whites (citrus, flowers).
The word of the wine: Basic wine
Dry, still wine intended for the production of sparkling wines (champagne, crémants, etc.). The basic wines undergo a second fermentation in the bottle for the production of carbon dioxide, and therefore of bubbles.
