The wine region of Côtes de Rommani
Moroccan AOG of the Zaër plateau (Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, 400–450 m), dual Atlantic (45 km from the coast) and continental Middle Atlas influence. Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Marselan, Tannat and Malbec as fleshy and sunny signature reds with intense blackberry, plum, spices, garrigue and a balsamic-fruity touch, round tannins. Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and Vermentino in bright whites. Fresh rosés and gris.
The wine region of Rabat/Casablanca
Atlantic wine region of Morocco (western coast between Rabat and Casablanca, Atlas foothills), climate tempered by the ocean, clay-limestone and gravelly soils. Cinsault, Grenache, Carignan, Syrah, Cabernet and Merlot as dominant signatures (75%) — fleshy and fruity reds with intense ripe cherry, plum, red fruits and a spiced-balsamic Moroccan touch, round tannins. Chardonnay and autochthonous Faranah and Tamerzit as whites with exotic fruits. Five AOGs.
The word of the wine: Confit
Said of red wines that offer a very ripe nose of red and black fruits reminiscent of jam. On the palate, these aromas are dominant, the wine is very fleshy and round, and leaves an impression of sweetness on the finish that weighs it down.
