It is said to be of Slovenian origin, where it is cultivated under the name of Prosekar, also known for a long time in Italy under the name of Glera. The wine region of Saint-Saturnin is located in the region of Languedoc of Languedoc-Roussillon of France. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Virgile Joly or the Domaine de Malavieille produce mainly wines red, pink and white. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Saint-Saturnin are Mourvèdre, Merlot and Chasan, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety.
