The Jean-Marc Bouley Estate is an exceptional vineyard located in the heart of the prestigious Côte de Beaune in Burgundy, in the historic village of Volnay in France. This region, globally recognized for the quality of its wines, offers an ideal environment for production, thanks to its unique terroir, temperate climate, and soils conducive to viticulture. For generations, the Bouley family has been deeply rooted in the region's winemaking traditions. Jean-Marc took over the family estate in 1983 and continued the work of his father, Pierre Bouley, who reintroduced vine cultivation in the village in the mid-20th century. Spanning ten hectares, the Jean-Marc Bouley Estate produces a variety of Volnay crus, notably Les Caillerets, Les Clos des Chênes, and Le Santenots du Milieu. The estate's approach to winemaking is decidedly artisanal, where human intervention is minimized to allow the terroir to express itself in the purest possible way. The vines are cultivated according to the principles of reasoned viticulture, emphasizing environmental sustainability. The harvests are manual, and the winemaking is done using traditional methods, thus respecting the integrity of the grape. The Jean-Marc Bouley Estate is renowned for its wines of great finesse and elegance. The red wines, mainly derived from Pinot Noir, are generous, endowed with a beautiful tannic structure, and impressive aromatic complexity. Its white wines, from the Chardonnay grape variety, are characterized by their freshness, minerality, and length on the palate. A tasting at the Jean-Marc Bouley Estate is a must-have experience for any lover of Burgundy wines.
