Prats & Symington (P+S) Estate is one of the most emblematic wine estates in the Douro region of Portugal. The fruit of a partnership between the Symington family, one of the most famous families of port wine producers, and Bruno Prats, former owner of the famous Château Cos d'Estournel, the estate was established with the sole purpose to produce the highest quality table wines. Located in the heart of the Douro Valley, the estate enjoys an exceptional geographical location. Bordered by the Douro River, it is situated on the steep slopes of the valley. The vines are planted on terraces, typi of the region, offering a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape. The location has a real advantage: optimal sun exposure and natural ventilation due to the presence of the river, two essential conditions for the perfect maturation of the grapes. The Prats & Symington estate is especially known for its elegant and complex red wines. Their wines are carefully crafted from different varietals of indigenous grapes, including Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca, traditionally used in the production of Port, but here vinified into still wines. The estate advocates a sustainable approach to viticulture, with respect for biodiversity and rational water and soil management. The production is carried out with attention to detail and a passion for excellence. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted before being vinified with respect to tradition, but also with the most modern techniques. Not only is the Prats & Symington estate a showcase for superior quality Portuguese wine, but it is also an exceptional place for accommodation.
