The wine region of Pirque

Sub-region of Alto Maipo, Chile, south of Santiago (~960 ha at 500–1,000 m on the Andean foothills, volcanic colluvial stony well-drained soils deposited by gravity, Andean downslope breezes and strong diurnal swings). Cabernet Sauvignon is the flagship red — concentrated and powerful with deep dark fruit, firm structured tannins and preserved freshness. Together with Puente Alto, the unofficial Grand Cru of Chile; iconic Concha y Toro terroir.

The wine region of Central Valley

Heart of modern Chilean wine: structured, sunny reds, dense, blackcurranty Cabernet Sauvignon from Maipo (Chilean cradle of the grape), signature Carménère with notes of ripe pepper, black fruit and sweet spices from Colchagua, supple Merlot and deep Syrah. Round Chardonnay whites and lively, sharp Sauvignon. Mediterranean climate, 400 km between Andes and Pacific. Star sub-regions: Maipo, Cachapoal, Colchagua, Curicó, Maule.

The word of the wine: Slight

Supple and easy to drink wine.
