It has its origins in Burgundy, where it is called pinot-beurot in reference to the colour of the grey robes worn by the monks of the region. The wine region of Etna is located in the region of Sicile of Italy. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Tenuta delle Terre Nere or the Domaine Gambino Vini produce mainly wines red, white and pink.
