Discovering the wine region of Atlantique

The regional name of Vin de pays de l'Atlantique exists since 2006. For red, rosé and white wines, it brings together 76 producer and Cellar members in Gironde, Dordogne and other departments of Poitou and Aquitaine, for a production of 39. 500 hectolitres of wine, 62% of which is red wine. This denomination is a complement of range of the AOC of Bordeaux.

The great terroirs of the South West of France benefit from a Warm and humid Climate which refreshes the vines and gives them the strong Flavours of the lands of Aquitaine and the lands of the Arrière Pays such as the Périgord. The Grape varieties for the reds and rosés are mainly Merlot, cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, and for the whites Chardonnay, destined for single-variety vintages. They are bouquets of Spicy and round flavours, with hints of acidic red fruits for the reds and rosés, and floral and vanilla aromas for the whites. The success of this appellation wine is due to the creativity of the producers who have put together 76 labels that invite you to travel.

More importantly, in this age, when every assistant in a retail shop styles him- or herself a sales consultant, who would hire one? The short answer is this: a wine consultant is someone who advises wine lovers about their passion. He or she advises buyers on what to buy (and a ...

It’s no secret that climate change is breaking records for heatwaves, frosts, fires, droughts, hail and wildfires. Their increasing frequency has left the wine world awash with initiatives, conferences, and research all concerning sustainable viticulture and its many facets: biodiversity, regenerative agriculture and the host of organic, biodynamic and sustainable labels or certifications they embody. More than simple posturing, many are concerned with the very real practicalities of saving wate ...

Jameson unveils new ‘musical direction’ with Jameson Remastered

The first release in the collection, ‘Jameson Remastered’ represents a significant shift in direction for the well-known blended Irish whiskey brand, by bringing back a single pot still whiskey to the portfolio, celebrating the spirit of classic discontinued recipes from the Jameson archives. The 15 year old single pot still (a whiskey distilled and constructed from only malted and un-malted barley, rather than being additionally blended with grain whiskey, like the flagship Jameson Original) wa ...
