The Lagar de Cervera Estate is a prestigious wine estate located in the region of Rías Baixas, known for being the cradle of Albariño white wine in Spain. Rías Baixas is a region in Galicia, northwestern Spain, renowned for its humid and cool Atlantic climate which favors the production of elegant and aromatic white wines. The Lagar de Cervera Estate is characterized by its wide expanse of vineyards, which covers approximately 72 hectares. These vineyards are mainly made up of Albariño vines, which have found in this region a granitic and acidic soil ideal for fully expressing their character. The history of the Lagar de Cervera Estate is intimately linked to that of the Álvarez family. Acquired in 1988, the estate saw its activities radically transform with the arrival of this family, fervent defenders of quality viticulture. They implemented rigorous vineyard management and modernized the facilities to optimize the production of high-quality wines. At the heart of the estate is the winery, where tradition and modernity meet. The winemaking process follows traditional methods, with fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, but also incorporates more modern techniques to ensure the freshness and purity of the wine. The wine produced at the Lagar de Cervera Estate is a typical Rías Baixas Albariño: fresh, fruity and aromatic, with notes of citrus, apples, and white flowers. It is recognized for its superior quality, regularly praised by critics, and for its ability to age gracefully.
