Tucked into the picturesque setting of the green valleys of Sonoma County in California, the Hook & Ladder Estate is a hidden gem in the heart of the American wine industry. This vineyard estate, spread over 375 hectares, is a harmonious blend of family history, passion for wine, and an unwavering dedication to the excellence of viticulture. For nearly half a century, the Hook & Ladder vineyard has been a family affair. Founded in 1970 by veteran winemaker Cecil De Loach and his wife Christine, the estate was taken over in 2003 by their son, Michael De Loach, and his wife Lori. The name "Hook & Ladder" refers to Cecil's former career as a firefighter in the San Francisco department, thus providing an authentic story that is as lively as the wine produced. The Hook & Ladder Vineyard produces an impressive variety of high-quality white, red, and rosé wines. Its rich and fertile terroir, benefiting from a temperate climate and moderate rainfall, provides an ideal environment for vine cultivation and the production of fine wines. House wines are a delight for the senses, brimming with complex and nuanced flavors that delight the most discerning palates. The estate is reputed not only for the quality of its wines, but also for its commitment to sustainable viticulture and responsible farming practices. It also has a beautiful tasting room where visitors can savor the estate's award-winning wines while enjoying the panoramic view of the well-maintained vineyards, as well as interactive cellar tours for an immersive winemaking experience.
