Château Petit-Village is a family-owned vineyard located in Pomerol, France. The property was purchased by Jean-Pierre Moueix in 1950 and has since been under the management of Christian Moueix, conversationalist and Jean-Pierre's grandson. Petit-Village has a special position between the Luchey-Halde and Gazin properties. The terroir in Maisons-Pomerol has a clay-limestone soil, located to the north of the appellation. Petit-Village is an exceptional producer of Bordeaux red wine, which is made from 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The wine has a subtle oaky taste and possesses an intense color with shades of blackberries, blackcurrants, and plums. The wine also has a delightful acidity and superb tannins. Their wine is considered a great wine of Pomerol and is now produced in small quantities, making it a highly sought-after product. Château Petit-Village is recognized for its environmental commitment and the quality produced. Since 2009, the vineyard has implemented an organic method, incorporating natural meadows and corn into their production system. Cabernet Franc is one of the oldest red grape varieties in Bordeaux. The Libourne region is its terroir where it develops best.
