The Château de Sales is a wine estate located in Pomerol, France, which produces the red wine Château de Sales. Château de Sales is situated on the famous low hills of Pomerol, known for their light and clay-rich soils. The estate is surrounded by terraced vineyards that protrude into the landscape and offer a panoramic view over the vineyard. There are about 26 hectares of vineyards that cover the property, consisting of plants that are Caladoc, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Malbec. The estate is rich in history. It was founded in 1732 by Louis-Philippe d'Orleans, a member of the French royal family. Over time, the property has changed hands, to various families. Despite the changes in ownership, Château de Sales has remained one of France's most renowned vineyards. Château de Sales produces a unique and complex red wine that is characterized by its power and finesse. Its "Signature" cuvée is mainly made from Merlot and Malbec, which are aged in oak barrels for 12 to 15 months.
