Château Canon is a wine estate located in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, France. It is considered one of the greatest classified growths of Bordeaux. The vines are grown on the sunny, rocky slopes found outside of the commune. The vines of Château Canon are among the oldest in the appellation, with an average age of over 30 years, and are cultivated over five hectares of land in an excellent location. Château Canon produces exclusively red wine, which is the perfect reflection of the precious terroir. The vines here are primarily planted with Merlot (50%), Cabernet Franc (40%), and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) grape varieties. The vines are carefully maintained, and the soil is amended with wood debris residues to allow the roots to penetrate deeper. Château Canon also focuses on the cellar work, and the wine is aged in oak barrels for about 18-20 months.
