Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Marco de Bartoli or the Domaine Marco de Bartoli produce mainly wines natural sweet, sweet and red. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Marsala are Grillo, Nero d'Avola and Cabernet-Sauvignon, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. The wine region of Sicily

Sicily is the Southernmost region of Italy, and the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. For over 2500 years, Sicily (Sicilia in Italian) has been an important centre of Mediterranean viticulture, although the reputation and style of its wines have changed considerably over time. The island was once best known for its Sweet muscatels (see Pantelleria), and later for its fortified Marsala. Today, many of its best-known wines are Dry table wines produced under the regional designation IGT Terre Siciliane, or Sicilia DOC (see below).

The word of the wine: Pigeage

Operation consisting of a vertical treading to push the cap of marc into the wine, which promotes extraction. Pigeage can be carried out mechanically with jacks that plunge into the vat. Traditionally, it is the men who go down into the vats and push the cap by trampling it.
