The Château Branaire-Ducru is a wine estate located in Saint-Julien, west of Bordeaux, in the southwest of France. It is one of the oldest wine estates in the Médoc and was established in 1680 by André Ducru. The vineyard is comprised of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc, and petit verdot grapes growing on relatively sandy soils on southwest-facing slopes for optimal sun exposure. The estate has a very low yield and is famed for producing high-quality wines. The grapevines are meticulously cared for, and the grapes harvested to perfection to ensure a premium-quality wine. The wines are matured on their lees in oak barrels for fifteen months until they reach maturity. The unique taste and the recognizable character of Château Branaire-Ducru result from nearly two centuries of wine production.
